Tryouts started on March 23rd for the Timberlane Girls Lacrosse team. The girls finished 10-6 in the 2025 season. They lost in the quarterfinals to Hanover last year. They are ready to take it all. Their first game is scheduled for April 13th at Merrimack Valley High School.
During the 2025 season, the Owls started off with two wins right away. Towards the end of the season they went on a six game win streak to bring their record to 10-6 before the post season. They lost to Hanover 7-13 in the Quarterfinals. They are hoping to make it further in the post season in the 2026 season.
Although the Owls have lost a few key players, they still have a strong roster with players like Lila Fitzgerald, Rylee Donahue, Julia Johnson, Aubry Fitzgerald, and Mia Morrier. They may have lost Ella Lampron, Southern New Hampshire University girls lacrosse player, but Helena Bird, Timberlane Girls Lacrosse Head Coach, has high hopes for this season. “I think that we will be just as strong, or stronger than we were last season. We should be a team that is playoff bound. We have a couple of rising sophomores and we have a couple of new additions to the team that I think will be immensely helpful. We have an overall positive attitude and people are excited so I’m looking forward to it.”
Going into this season, the girls know what their weaknesses and strengths are. Based on last season, they are able to learn from their failures and improve as a team instead of just individuals. Even though they graduated several starters, their dynamic hasn’t changed. Senior starter, Lila Fitzgerald, stated, “I think we all need to stay connected and play as one. Although there are 11 players on the field, we need to play together to give ourselves the best chance possible. We have a lot of talented players that are a part of the program that have the opportunity to have a great season.”
On April 20th, the Owls will face Hanover. They only lost to them 15-17 in the regular season but later lost 7-13 in the playoffs. They will be coming to get revenge against Hanover in April.
The Lady Owls will be playing the defending champions, Winnacunnet, on April 27th at the nest. They lost 5-17 in the 2025 season and are hoping to improve that score. This looks like it will be one of the most competitive games of the year for the Owls. They know this is the team to beat and play their hardest.
As the season comes to a start, the Timberlane Girls Lacrosse team reflects on the past season with goals to help succeed this spring. The Owls may not be the flashiest team, but their team chemistry and ambition will make them a top team in this upcoming season.
