As the 25-26 wrestling season comes to an end the O wls take home another state championship with a dominant performance on February 22nd. The varsity team came in with a goal to win another state championship, and it would be the 31st for the team spanning back to the 1980s. They came into the day with a full line up of 14 kids; ten of them are returning from the 24-25 team who won the title for the first time in two years. They added three new guys to the line up but are not new to the varsity team. They joined the line up when needed Scott, and Zach Patti, then Gavin Oljay and then Ryan Sigillo came out for his senior year after taking a two year break.
Leading the team was Head Coach Tim Brown and assistant coaches Dan Woodworth, Tyler Fitzpatrick, Sevie Burgos, Taylor Donovan and, Brian Nichol. The one seed was Matt Boucher at 106 C, Ethan Billobram at 120, Scott Patti at 126, Joey Consolvo at 138, and Jason O’Brien at 165. Then 4 kids were the 2 seed in the tournament: Ryan Sigillo at 157, Cole Suess at 175 C, Reid Robinson at 190, and Kyle Lindblad at 215 C. Next 2 of the Timberlane Wrestlers were seeded 4th in their weight class and that was Peter Morrissey at 132 and Dom Lee at 144. Rounding off at the 5 seed we have Alex Hammond at 285. Then in the 7th seed there is Zach Patti at 113 and at the 8th seed Gavin Oljay at 150.
First Senior Captain Matt Boucher was up at 106 he was up against a kid from Concord who he beat the week before in the meet, Matt took down the kid and pinned him in 43 seconds to win the 106 Championship title.
At 165 for Timberlane Jason O’Brian vs Jack Gillard for Keene. Jason was coming off of his victory over him a few weeks before Jason kicked off the match with a takedown 50 seconds in and ended the first period up 3-0. Jason picks bottom and picks up an escape 5 seconds in and about a minute into the second Jack gets a takedown making the score 4-3 Jason. With 40 seconds left in the second Jason picks up another takedown to end the period. Jack picks neutral in the 3rd and Jason picks up a takedown with a minute and 30 seconds left and Jack gets an escape making the score 11-4. With 30 seconds left Jason gets a takedown and a turn making the score 18-4 to win the NH state title and now becoming a 2x NH State Champion at 165 both in 2025 and 2026.
At 175 Senior Captain Cole Seuss vs Max Chung from Concord. In the first period it was 0-0 then in the second Cole took bottom and escaped making the score 1-0 Cole then no action was in the rest of the second. In the 3rd Max took bottom and got an escape and a few seconds later Cole got a takedown and rode the rest of the match winning 4-1 to get himself a NH state title.
Lastly at 215 for Timberlane Senior Captain Kyle Lindblad vs Isaiah Puckett From Concord, in the first period there was no action and it ended 0-0. In the second period Kyle got an escape to make it 1-0 no points were rewarded the rest of the period. In the Third period Isaiah was on bottom and he got an escape to make it 1-1 tied. They had to go to overtime to determine a winner and Isaiah picked bottom to try to win and Kyle held him down for the 30 second fourth period it was still 1-1 heading into the rideouts round. Isaiah chose to go first and he got out with 13 seconds left so Kyle had to hold and not let him score in order for him to have a chance at winning. It was 2-1 heading into the final round of the rideouts and if Kyle wanted to win he had to escape and take Isaiah down or get a reversal and win it, Kyle chose bottom and got a reversal 9 seconds in and he won the match 3-2 to become the 215 NH State champ now becoming a 2x state Champ at 190 in 2025 and now 215 in 2026.
Timberlane ended the day with 4 champions at 106, 165, 175, and 215, 5 Second Place Fishers at 113,120,126,132,157, 1 third place finisher at 138, and finally 2 fourth place finishers at 144 and 190. Meaning 12 out of 14 moved onto the meet of champions the next week. They ended the day with 281 points coming in first out of 15 teams in Division 1 of New Hampshire.
