Now that pests are starting to come out the more the weather gets warmer and warmer. Many people don’t know how to get rid of them. There are many ways to get rid of them, but it all depends on the area.
Many different factors can cause pests to start to show up. One major factor is heat. During the summer, when it becomes very hot, pests are more likely to show up. The heat makes the pets irritated. Making them want to go to cooler places which can include homes. During the summer they will start to reproduce more, so when the cold seasons come there will be a lot to ensure the survival of them. Many people will also start to clean up their yards or backyards giving the pests less food or water, making them want to go somewhere where food and water is available. A lot of pests are also cold blooded making them more impacted by the weather.
The first recommendation from the EPA is to make sure that no sources that pests may want are available, This includes Food, Water, Shelter, as well as any trash. Closing spots that pets can enter and hide can help a lot. These spots can include cracks or crevices that are at cabinets or drawers. The EPA also recommends checking any mail or packages you may get before bringing inside in case a pest gets inside. You want to do all of these things before using any types of chemicals or traps as if the food sources or water sources are still there more pests will come back after.
If you have already fixed all issues and you still have pests you could use pesticides. These are chemicals that can deter pests from coming or to make them leave. Before using any chemicals you may want to just setup traps for them as the chemicals are bad to inhale. If a trap doesnt work then you can get a pesticide. These are mostly sprays you can get at most stores. When buying make sure that it fits your use case as indoor and outdoor pesticides exist and outside ones can last longer if used inside. If the pests are in a kitchen you do not want to use pesticides. Traps are better recommended as the chemicals can get into food you may cook. You also want to make sure that you know what kind of pest you have as depending on what it is different chemical solutions or traps are required. If you do use a pesticide make sure no one else is in the room like children or pets as these chemicals are bad to inhale. Pesticides will include steps that will allow you to stay the most safe when using them.
