Sunday resets are practical to start your new week off the right way. Everyone’s Sunday reset can look different for people but no matter what, it’s beneficial. Sundays are the last day of the week and can be a day to unwind. So much happens during the week that requires a lot of energy. From personal experience, if I don’t do my Sunday reset then by Tuesday I am swamped with chores and or nec that could have been done on Sunday. “Having a Sunday reset routine is a must. Because it allows you to prepare for the week – not just plan for it.” (mattiejames).
A sunday reset can allow you to have the opportunity to start the week off right with not only a clear, organized space but a clean and organized headspace as well. A sunday reset, known as cleaning your room, waking up early to go grocery shopping, or performing a spring cleaning to your house, can be designed to fit best for you and your schedule. According to (mattejames), things such as reviewing your schedule, putting it into a planner, cleaning your space, doing things for yourself to feel good and taking time to check in on others. Your Sunday reset can benefit your relationships with the people around you whether you live with them or not. It can affect people and throw people off if they notice a Sunday looks different in their household. It can cause them to feel unorganized. The effect can be the same for a significant other that you talk to each day. It is crucial to me by the end of the week to have my things together or throughout the week complete what’s important to me(Maryamtaheri). I can be off towards others. This can affect others to believe there is an issue or make them wonder what is so off but it is typically just because I didnt do my sunday reset.
My Sunday reset is something I look forward to each week because I always feel so accomplished. To me my sunday reset usually looks like this, I like to do my laundry because if I don’t do my laundry I feel as if I will have a stressful week trying to figure out outfits to wear for the week. With that i make sure to wash my bedding that way it is a new clean slate to the week. Another thing to set me up for a great week is making a to do list for each day of the week so I can expect what my week will look like. A few things to do for my own well being include journaling so I can go into the week with a clear mind. It helps keep all the stressors from the previous week behind. I also think it is important to make a meal plan to make sure not only my mind but my body as well feels good. It saves much time to prepare meals for the week rather than to try and figure out what to make everyday which can be time consuming with a busy week. And the final thing I like to end my Sunday reset off with is self care. This can look different each time but typically it includes a shower and skincare routine. Whether that can be a hairmask, doing my eyebrows, painting my nails and doing things for me and to feel refreshed and clean for the new week!
This is worth trying because though a sunday can feel dreading knowing the weekend is over and you have school or work the next day, it can turn into a day to look forward to and lead to having a positive outcome. A sunday reset is definitely trying and I encourage you all to start your sunday reset next week!
