The 2026 NFL scouting combine has since concluded on March 2nd at Lucas Oil stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The combine has always served as a high stakes opportunity for so many up and coming players. 319 invited prospects from all over the nation travel to this annual event as it’s a critical evaluation where NFL decision makers look at individual players trainings, see what a players strengths and weaknesses are, team interviews, medical exams, and physical drills.
Atlana Falcons headcoach Kevin Stefanski states “The 2026 combine class was highlighted with record breaking speed and elite athleticism, specifically among the defensive positions groups.” A couple stand out players include Jeremiyah Love, Sonny Styles, and a highly anticipated quarterback out of Indiana, Fernando Mendoza, who had recently just won the Heisman trophy and a college football championship.
Although it’s overlooked, the medical evaluations are often considered one of the most important parts of the week. Team physicians conduct thorough physicals and review long term durability for players. Teams are also permitted 15 minute formal interviews with up to 60 different prospects to get a view on their football IQ, character, and responsibility.

A standout record from this year is linebacker Sonny Styles from Ohio State, he ran a 4.46 second 40 yard dash. On top of crazy fast speed for a linebacker, he also posted a vertical jump over 40 inches and a broad jump that went farther than 11 feet, NFL experts are projecting him to be a top 10 pick in this upcoming draft.
