On Saturday evening of September 20th, 2025, a shooting took place at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire in the middle of a wedding reception. A man, now identified as 23 year old Hunter Nadeau entered the club carrying a handgun and opened fire. One person died from gunshot wounds, and at least two others were shot and wounded. In addition two others were injured from trying to escape said NPR News
The suspect, Nadeau, was arrested in a nearby neighborhood not long after the shooting. He has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of Robert Decesare, the man who passed away due to gunshot wounds. More people were injured by the terrible events that happened, The people plan on pursuing charges on Nadeau. Said NHPR News
The motive of Nadeau is still unknown. “We don’t have any evidence at this time that Mr.Nadeau was motivated by hate-based motivation. In fact, I would say that the evidence leads us to believe this was more likely Mr.Nadeau was simply trying to make a number of statements to create chaos in the moment,”said New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella . Officials are still investigating to see if there was any personal connection between Nadeau and Decesare but they have yet to find anything.
Witnesses claimed to have heard six to seven gunshots. It was also claimed by witnesses that the gunman was hit by a chair amidst the chaos. “He hit him over the head with a chair, and he probably saved a bunch of lives just doing that,” said witness Michael Homewood. Homewood was the DJ at the wedding adjacent to the club’s restaurant.
People all across New Hampshire have been showing remorse and are left heartbroken over the tragedy. Families, friends, and community members have shared sympathy for everyone affected. Many family members of Robert Decesare have spoken out on what a brave and selfless man he was.
