Invincible is an amazing tale of a teen who finds out he has powers and wants to use them for good, he decides to give himself the name of Invincible. Yea, yea, I know who would have guessed that is how the superhero story would go. At first it seems like it is going to be an unoriginal hero story mirroring other ones like Superman or the Flash, but after the credits of the first episode the show takes a sudden change. One of the main protagonists suddenly murders a bunch of other heroes. He murders them in such a gruesome and awful battle that leaves the whole world confused and concerned. Suddenly the show paints this twist villain into the picture and the show takes a sudden interest in the viewer. The fight is a widely known scene to anyone who has watched the show and can tell you the same thing I will. It is not for the faint of heart. After that the show has you hooked wanting more. I eventually just binged the whole series in just two weeks.
It is also a great treat to have none other than JK. Simmons playing one of the main characters. He does a phenomenal job with the voice acting. One of his intense lines was, “What will you have after 500 years?” The answer he receives really just shifts the whole show. The emotional scene at the end is so moving that it even made me cry just watching it. The last episode is really the only part of the show where it gets this emotional, but it is very much needed to drive the plot further. The message that invincible gives during his battle just moved my heart into really understanding what he wanted. It’s also one of the most disturbing episodes as the scene is as gruesome as the rest. It was overall a great show and would suggest anyone to watch it on Prime Video.
