In Bedford New Hampshire, Eugene Mirman a comedian and actor best known for voice acting Gene Belcher on Bob’s Burgers, was found with serious injuries after he had been in a substantial car accident that left his vehicle in flames at a New Hampshire toll plaza.
The crash occurred on March 31 at the Bedford Toll Plaza on the Everett turnpike when Mirman struck the barrier while he was driving his electric car. CBS News states that the impact caused the car to catch fire, trapping him inside as the flames and smoke spread.
Bystanders and a state trooper stepped in to help. They pulled Mirman from the burning fire through the vehicle’s window. The Guardian reports that Mirman thanks rescuers who pulled him from the car.
Mirman suffered serious, but non life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he is now recovering. WMUR reports that his agent described the incident as very scary and said the actor is very grateful.
NBC Boston reports that authorities confirmed Mirman to be the only person inside of the vehicle during the time of the accident, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. So far no charges have been filed.
