Five Nights at Freddy’s is an extremely popular franchise originated from a small horror video game series created by Scott Cawthon. It was directed by Emma Tammi, and it was released in theatres on December 5th 2025 in the US.
Critical Scores were horribly low, with a 15% on Rotten Tomatoes, 5.8/10 on IMDb, and a ⅕ on Common Sense Media. The movie has been given criticism for its poorly constructed story and dialogue, confusing lore, and bad scares. Despite these low critical opinions, the movie has received lots of praise from fans of the franchise.
The movie achieved 64 million dollars in its first weekend, setting a new record for the biggest post-Thanksgiving opening weekend ever. Making the movie a huge box office success. The movie’s budget was around 51 million dollars. There was a lot of background effort into making the animatronic characters come to life. There were double the amount of animatronics in this movie than the first one. The first movie had 6 active animatronic suits, this one had 17 animatronics. This movie features the Toy Animatronics and the Withered Animatronics, as featured in the game the movie is based on.
After this smashing success, fans will be anticipating the third installment to Blumhouse’s Fazbear Cinematic Universe.
