U.S. Continues Aid to Ukraine

Cole Priest

Ukraine has been at war with the Russians for a little over a year now. Ukraine has not had the best hopes of winning in this war and Russia has destroyed and taken so many lives of Ukrainians. Ukraine is an ally of North Atlantic Treaty Organization also known as NATO, the U.S. is part of NATO so we are helping them in a war that seemed hopeless for Ukraine.

In 2023 alone the U.S. has sent 3.75 billion dollars to Ukraine to aid them in their war. The money came from stocks. .85 billion dollars were pulled from the department of defense and 225 million in foreign military financing. Most of the funding has

gone to vehicles to help them fight against Russia. A lot of people do not know how to feel about this action because we are helping Russia’s enemy. No one wants to go to war with Russia.

The U.S. has not sent any soldiers to Ukraine, and they do not plan to. The only thing that they plan on spending is money to help with more vehicles and armory. The amount of money being sent to Ukraine is a ridiculous amount and it is kind of absurd that we have more to give to a country at war that we are not completely a part of. We have sent over a total of 24,9 billion dollars to support them.
