The Boston Celtics are on a meteoric rise with a record of  22-5 which is the best record in the NBA so far. As of December 5, Jayson Tatum is averaging 30.8 points a game which is top 5 in the league out of all the players according to ESPN stats. Along his side is another player who is also playing well is Jaylen Brown who is also averaging 26.7 points per game. The Celtics are going to continue to see success due to these two players playing really good.

After their loss in the NBA finals four games to two to the Golden State Warriors, the Celtics are looking towards another Finals appearance. In an interview with NBC Sports, Tatum said, “How do we get to that point? It should be exciting. Just playing basketball for a living, it’s all we could dream about. Time does go by fast”. Tatum seemed to gain motivation from that loss alongside the rest of his team. Marcus Smart is one of the key players on the team. He is coming off winning Defensive Player of the Year. He has grown from his loss. Instead of shooting so much he has learned to pass the ball around and his assists per game are up a lot according to ESPN stats. 

However, right before the season got underway, the Celitcs were under controversy and under fire as reports came out about Ime Udoka. Udoka, the head coach of the team, always stressed the importance of defense and tenacity. Udoka was suspended on September 21st the Celtics were looking for a new head coach to lead the young team. They found their hope in Coach Joe Mazzulla who is 34 years old coming into the season, is one of the youngest coaches this year. 

The Celtics made big trades also during the off season. By signing Malcom Brogdan who is an underrated NBA player. Brogdon makes key play when needed such as making threes in key moments in the game to give the Celtics momentum. Brogdon provides more offensive firepower that the Celtics need when their starting lineup is out.  He averages 14.3 points per game according to ESPN stats. This season which is all they need out of him since they have so many other players scoring. The Celtics are looking strong this year and can easily be one of the best teams this year and possibly win the NBA finals ending their drought.
