Marcus Rashford came bursting onto the scene of the Premier League at 18 years of age, making his senior team debut for Manchester United.  As a young star he worked his way up through the team establishing himself as a key part to this squad, and showed many attributes

 

Erik Ten Hag, manager of Manchester United FC, said to ESPN “Scoring goals is something that just comes naturally to him.” Manchester United is a football club in the Premier League. The Premier League is the highest level of English football. 

 

Marcus Rashford comes from a working class family, and he was raised by his mom, a single parent. His mom would have to work multiple jobs just to ensure that her children ate, even if it meant that she could not eat. Marcus had four siblings, two brothers, Dwaine Maynard and Dane Rashford and two sisters, Chantelle and Claire. As a child all he wanted to do was support his family and be able to give back, and he was able to do that by playing football. Football was something that he loved more than anything else and wanted to take it to the highest level possible. In doing so he can also help children in need.

According to UKfundraiser, “Marcus Rashford is the youngest person to lead the Sunday Time Giving List.” Marcus Rashford has helped 1.3 million students who could not get access to food over COVID break. He also runs a campaign that ensures “kids eligible for free school meals would continue to be fed regularly”.  Lastly according to GIVEMESPORT, “Acting as an ambassador for food poverty charity FareShare, Rashford’s efforts also generated an estimated £20 million of additional donations to the charity. This gives him a Giving Index of 125. This unusual calculation represents the £20 million raised as 125% of his net worth of £16 million.”

 

Not only has Marcus Rashford made an impact for his club team,  he also steps up to represent his country during international tournaments. Making his debut in May of 2016, Marcus Rashford has represented England during every major international tournament since. Having Earned 46 senior caps and has scored just on his debut but also 12 goals since. Rashford has been a key player in England’s senior squad. While not on international duty it is no secret that Marcus Rashford is one of Manchester United’s star players. He has scored101 goals in 322 appearances as well as getting 24 assists as well. Marcus Rashford has worn the Captains armband a few times, he has really helped to provide a strong backbone to this team.
