Timberlane Regional High School is rolling into winter sports. The ski team is ready to be back in action. After making the switch to division 2 this year, coaches Mr.Kelly and Mr.Cunningham are hoping for a great season. They practice at Pats Peak, but sometimes travel to different mountains for meets. They had five races last season, four were at Pats Peak and one at Gunstock.

Mr.Kelly has high hopes for this year’s team after making the switch to division 2. Coach Kelley said, ” It was the right move for the program and we are excited to compete against this new competition.” Timberlane has three returning captains, Aiden Errico, Sean Ward and Anne Quin. Kelly also noted, “We compete every day and we have good leaders to support this team¨.

Coach Cunningham also had some kind words to say about this year’s team. “We had a record number of signups this year, and we also have a veteran group who can lead these underclassmen¨. Coach Cunningham also said, “ It is hard to tell how well we will do in division two, because we haven’t been around the competition, but I think we will do fairly well¨.

Aiden Errico is one of the returning captains for the ski team and is thrilled for his senior season. Errico said, “I love to compete and I love skiing and I’m gonna try to be a good leader and good skier¨. He also noted ¨ the switch to division two was smart, we just don’t have the guys to compete at the division one level”.

Another captain is Sean Ward. Ward said ¨ the sport is really fun and we have a good group¨. ¨ I think it will be a good season¨.

On the girls side is Anne Quin. She is a returning captain and has high hopes for this year’s season. Quin said ¨there are not many girls but we work hard and I am going to try to be a good leader for them. All I know is that we will compete¨.

Timberlane Ski Team is on the rise and should compete well in this new schedule. Stay tuned for more information as the season progresses.
