Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has recently made a move to the Premier League and is already dominating his opponents. Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City FC, said to ESPN “He is one of the best strikers I have ever coached.”

The Premier League is the highest league in men’s football (soccer). Manchester City is a team that does very well in the league.

During last summer’s transfer window, head coach Pep Guardiola signed the 22 year old Norwegian striker in hopes that he could fill the void of previous club legend Sergio Augero. Bringing the young talent into an already dominant team has appeared to be as some are saying “overkill.” In years prior, Manchester City had been consistently winning the Premier League title and did not find much competition. The question arises whether or not Haaland is going to give Manchester city even more of an advantage, or let down everyone’s expectations? Manchester City could potentially own the league even more with their new striker and have more championships coming their way.

Not only is Haaland dominating the premier league, but he was also a very tough opponent since he started his journey in Bundesliga on Borussia Dortmund back in 2020 – 2021. (Bundesliga is a professional association football (soccer) league in Germany. Borussia Dortmund is a team that plays in the league.) According to ESPN Haaland had a whopping 49 total goals with 32 appearances in his first two years of professional soccer. That is approximately 1.5 goals per game.

Halland switched teams for many reasons. One being the fact that he wanted more Competition. He was dominating the Bundesliga, scoring almost two goals every game. He knew that the Premier League for a long time has been considered one of the hardest if not the hardest league in the world, so he wanted to challenge himself. Also for his own name, playing in the Bundesliga could really only make him so known, but by coming to the premier league, it would help to boost his fame.Halland switched teams for Besoccer.com states that he demanded a 5 year minimum contract worth 90 million euros.
