One of the new teachers at Timberlane this year is Bill Brown. This will be his 4th season as the hockey coach for Timberlane, but his first year teaching here. Mr. Brown is very excited to be at Timberlane. He chose Timberlane to teach at because he coaches here and lives a mere 12 minutes away.  He will be a special education teacher with an emphasis on math.

After attending Northeastern University, he had a mixture of coaching, teaching, and community service jobs. He has coached at Austin Prep, Pentucket, Chelmsford, and Winchester High Schools.

He also worked a goalie camp with Vladislav Tretiak, who happened to be the goalie for the Soviet Union during the US’s 1980 “Miracle on Ice”. He previously taught at Winchester (Math, English, Science, History), and worked with youth and their families for YouthBuild, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and NFI (Northeastern Family Institute) Massachusetts.

Obviously between coaching and teaching, Mr. Brown does not have a ton of free time, however, when not coaching hockey or softball, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. He also enjoys 80’s music, which he claims to be “the greatest music ever”. Students are excited to see what his experience and leadership can bring to Timberlane.

We welcome Mr. Brown to Timberlane and wish him the best of luck for the year and the fast-approaching hockey season.
