In the state of New Hampshire, the mask mandate was lifted on February 23rd, according to WMUR.

Even though COVID is still in the air and will probably never disappear, it has calmed down over time. Many people found that masks are not necessary anymore. Of course, if you choose to wear a mask out in public that is your choice.

Many places around the Plaistow area are now not requiring employees to wear masks while on the clock. Just this Monday, March 14th my recent job at Bed Bath and Beyond just lifted the mask mandate. Vaccinated or not everyone who was on the clock was required to wear masks and follow the COVID cleaning protocol.

Wearing masks while working was annoying at first but over the months we all got used to it. Most of the people I do work with are happy we aren’t required to wear masks anymore.

Here at Timberlane, we aren’t required to wear masks anymore. Coming from a senior myself, it feels good finishing my last year without masks.

One of my closest friends gave me her thoughts about being mask optional at both school and work. “I like it, it’s a good way to end senior year with the feeling of being back to normal” said Hannah.

Even where Hannah works Crumble Cookies, she said they don’t require them either. Coming from Hannah, “I like it, it gets really busy and hot where I work and it’s nice for the customers too.”

Being masks optional is a big step to become closer to the normal. Even though the old normal won’t ever be the same, steps are being taken to try and become a new normal.
