The boys basketball team has made large strides since last year’s season. Last year, playoff brackets were randomized due to some schools being affected by Covid-19. This landed the Owls a first-round away game against a well-coached Windham team. However, the Owls upset Windham with a close finish, winning their first playoff game in years. The team was able to win their second playoff game as well, but lost to a talented Londonderry team in the third round.

This year, the Owls finished with a record of 7-11. This season included victories against tough teams such as Bedford, Salem, and Winnacunnet. These wins show the Owls’ ability to play at a high level and compete with some of the best teams in the league. With an electric group of fans, a gritty defense, and talented shooters, the Owls were aiming for a playoff run. Unfortunately, they landed a game against the number two seed, Nashua North in the first round of the playoffs.. It was tough for the Owls to play against a very fast, athletic team, and they fell just short of the win.

Though the season didn’t turn out the way the boys wanted it to, they had an amazing run, with many exciting games. Owls big man Dylan Brandano stated, “it was amazing watching this team grow as a family and a team.” When asked about the future of the team, Brandano stated, “with eight seniors leaving this year, that’s definitely a big hit on the program, but I believe our future is bright.” With multiple returning varsity players, the years to come seem to have promise.
