On January 15th, 2022, Kanye West released a single for the first time since his newest album, Donda. This new single was a collaboration with artist The Game, who has not dropped any other music since 2019. In Eazy, Kanye went on to diss his now ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, regarding her new confirmed love interest, actor and comedian, Pete Davidson. Their relationship was confirmed on Monday, February 7th via zoom call, according to PageSix, when Pete referred to Kim as his “girlfriend.”

Pete Davidson is a 28 year old from Staten Island, New York. He is best known for his work on Saturday Night Live. He is often seen by the public eye as somebody who is extremely relaxed and calm with an apathetic sense of humor. Kim Kardashian, on the other hand, is a 41 year old with multiple multi million dollar companies. She is a business woman, and she is most known for her family’s hit reality TV show, Keeping up With the Kardashians. The two definitely make quite the odd pairing, and fans are actually pretty much split down the middle with their opinions and theories regardless of the current situation, according to Inquirer.

In one verse of Eazy, Kanye West went into detail about his point of view regarding Kim and Pete’s relationship status, along with his views on them from an individual standpoint. He acts as if he is doing fairly well and goes as far to say that he’s “…having the best divorce ever”. The way Kanye delivers that line portrays the lack of care he has about the way things happened between him and Kim, when in reality he is extremely tense over the situation. This makes a great deal of sense, considering they had been together for over 10 years romantically, and even had four children together, according to US Magazine

Kanye has never been an artist to diss other people for no reason. That is unless they do something to affect his personal life or career. To Kanye, Pete Davidson was seen as a threat to not only his fame, but his family especially. In the song, Kayne talks about his children and how the nannies would watch them. But he quickly turned it around to say that “The cameras watch the kids, y’all stop takin’ the credit”. This shows how he wants more for his children than to just be watched through a screen, which is a direct diss towards Kim’s reality show.

Kanye West is heavily considered to be a family man, and shows it clearly by the way he acts towards his kids. His values and morals may seem a little crazy, but family is truly what comes first to him. Even though he seems absolutely devastated that Kim has moved on, Kanye himself has a new love interest. Julia Fox, a 32 year old American actress, has been seen with Kanye many times since the drop of the new song. A lot of fans are suggesting that she is a rebound, or maybe even a distraction of the public eye as Kanye cooks up other songs, or to make changes within his life during this difficult time.
