Timberlane Regional High School students take pride in the work they do, but sometimes the workload can become a lot, and help is needed. The goal of Academic Support is to help students that struggle with a certain class such as Geometry or Algebra.  Timberlane States, “The Mission of Timberlane Regional School District is to engage all students in challenging and relevant learning opportunities, emphasizing high aspirations and personal growth.” School may get very challenging at some points, and stress overload occurs, but Timberlane offers a support program that can help students that come forward; the After School Academic Support.

Academic Support is an opportunity for students to come forward and get the help they desire or need to be successful in high school. One can email a teacher to get in touch to receive extra help, or the teacher can email the honor society that will provide the class that is desired. For example, a student having trouble in math class would be in contact with a Math Honor Society member. Covid, students have faced many difficulties with transitioning from online learning to back to in person learning. While being at home many students had the opportunity to open notes all the time, google search engines, and communicate with friends. Personally, my junior year all the quizzes were open note, so going from open not to close note was a very hard transition.

With the change it makes it more difficult to adapt, the Academic Support has been a tool for transition.   This allows for students to transition back to the learning environment that was previously in place before Covid. This is done by direct help from in person, a controlled environment, and constant reinforcement.

Timberlane continues to offer solutions and ways in which to help students. The Academic Support System has been an influential opportunity for students. It has shown to be very flexible and tailored to what the student specifically needs. If one wishes to reach out for Academic support, reach out to your teachers to help with the process.
