Timberlane Football in the Playoffs

Griffin Roeger

After many lackluster football seasons by the Timberlane Owls, they have taken a huge leap in their performance. They went 9-0 in the regular season, and won both of their playoff games to advance them to the championship. This is the Owls first ever undefeated regular season. But they are not done yet, they are looking to take home the chip for the first time in many years.

The owls are led by head coach Kevin Fitzgerald and senior captains Dom Pallaria, Cooper Kelly, Ethan Stewart, Joe Shivell, and Bryce Parker. The Owls backfield has been electric this season with Dom Pallaria and Dan Post combining for 1,760 total yards and 32 touchdowns through 10 games. Starting quarterback Dom Copetta went down earlier this season with a season ending injury. However, sophomore Gary Shivell has made a name for himself, and earned the confidence of the rest of the team as he took over the starting role.

Last year the Owls made the semi finals but fell to a very good Souhegan team who went on to win it all. Last Friday the Owls made it back to the semi final game, and blew out a good St. Thomas’ team to advance them to the championship. With an extra day of practice last week the team was firing on all cylinders. Captain Cooper Kelley said, “We have been playing our best football as of late, we’re ready and excited to get another shot, and make a run for the championship.”

The Owls face off against Milford in the Division 2 Championship game this Saturday. Going into the game the team is ready, and excited. Earlier this season the Owls took down Milford in a nail biter, and they are looking to repeat that this weekend. As the Owls go into this game they are the top ranked team in the division, but a red hot Milford team is looking to upset them. The tension is high, and everyone is excited to see if the Owls can complete their undefeated season.
