At just 18 years old Olivia Rodrigo’s career had skyrocketed while her songs began hitting number one on the charts all around the world. She rose to fame starting at a young age with movies and acting but really made way when she became a singer and was in Highschool Musical The Series. She is continuing to come out with more music that relates to many teens which is what grabs her audience’s attention.

Her career had made big waves in many news articles and talk shows which helped her become more popular. New York Times said her music was a way to feel the emotions of adolescence. The New York Times also said, “ she has nailed the agony of collapse and watching your old partner rebuild, it’s a phenomenon as it is familiar,”.

People all over the world have thought the same and this is why she is becoming so popular to teens and even adults. New York Times had said that Olivia has had many versions of herself being a teen and having to deal with all the spotlight, and it can be hard but she has managed to stay mature about it.

Olivia’s album sour and some songs on her hit show Highschool Musical the musical the series was a platform for her to branch out. A website called “the things” said that one of her biggest role models is Taylor Swift, and she was a reason olivia could become as big as she was. Taylor was one of the reasons she loved music so much and how she connected with all of her fans emotionally.

Olivia started singing when she was just a little girl and music was a big part of her life since she was able to talk.  She had kept momentum with releasing her songs and doing duets with people so no one forgot about her and people would keep waiting and wanting to listen for more. In Time magazine Olivia said,  “To a certain degree, having really commercially successful music means that lots of people are really affected by your music and really like it, and that’s awesome in and of itself,”

From starting out as a normal girl to a big sensation over the past year she is still on her journey and is just starting out on her acting and music career. Although Olivia had to go through heartbreaks and some set backs for her to be able to write these songs, they still were a place for her to grow and figure out who she. In all her moments of fame she stayed true to herself and did what she loved and produced music while still growing up and getting famous.
