In the current age of music, Anderson .Paak is one of the most recognizable R&B/HipHop names. The artists population has grown tremendously and has an impeccable talent when it comes to making music and collaborating with others that many only dream of. The 35 year old released his first album in 2014, and had only risen since then. He has collected multiple awards and worked with many immense names in the competitive industry. Anderson .Paak has a bright future that many look forward to.

Brandon Paak Anderson, widely known as Anderson .Paak has faced many hardships, such as homelessness and unemployment, but he never let that impede the rise of his music career. Once known as Breezy Lovejoy, the rapper soon changed his name, with the noticeable period mark in between two words, as The Guardian tells readers. He has said this is to represent his attention to detail, telling NPR “Always be paying attention to detail… I spent a lot of time working on my craft, developing my style, and after I came out of my little incubation I promised that I would pay attention to detail.” 

Having released four albums, “Venice”, “Malibu”, “Oxnard”, and “Venura”, he has yielded much success. With four albums, he has won four Grammy awards. He has continued to improve his skills. He has been an apprentice of Dr.Dre since 2016 after appearing on one of his albums. Anderson .Paak is now signed to his label, Aftermath Entertainment, and Dr. Dre has produced many of his songs, as The Guardian shares. Anderson .Paak has even described the feeling of working with Dr. Dre as being “the prodigal son.” The two`s collaboration has clearly paid off, because since 2016, Anderson .Paak has won a total of four Grammy awards. Paak has told The Guardian, “‘If Dre had called five years ago, I don’t think I’d have been ready.” so it seems everything has worked out for the best for this rising star. Dr.Dre has worked heavily with many other stars, such as Eminem, so Anderson being the next one chosen is something to be proud of. 

Although the artist has much to be proud of for his career up to this point, there are many bigger things visible on the horizon. In March 2021, Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars announced to their fans they will be forming a duo known as “Silk Sonic.” The two will produce an album called “An Evening with Silk Sonic.” One song off the duo’s debut album has already been released and created quite the buzz. The song was so successful that the Harvard Crimson has said If this single’s success is any indication, “An Evening with Silk Sonic” is definitely an album worth waiting for.” Now, all that is left to do is wait for the next production from Anderson .Paak. Many anxiously await to hear new music from the talented artist.
