Bruins Strong Start

Connor Pelletier

The Boston Bruins are off to a strong start in this and shortened season. Despite the many challenges that have come this year, the Bruins have found a way to play well in the opening of this season.

The B’s have jumped to a great start winning 10 of their 14 games and having two close  overtime losses. With only one regulation loss so far the Bruins have one of the best records so far this season. The Bruins are currently 10, 2 and 2 this season meaning they have won 10 games lost 2 and lost another 2 in overtime. The season is looking up. David Pastrnak recently came back from injury and has scored 5 goals in four games with 3 assists sprinkled in. This combined with Patrice Bergeron’s and Brad Marchand’s points and goals has helped the Bruins immensely. However, these three are not the only ones putting up points for the Bruins.

The Bruins have gotten a lot of offense from other key players on the team and the Bruins young defense has been both great defensively and has provided a lot of offense for the team unfortunately two of the bruins you defenseman are currently injured. According to bruins coach Bruce Cassidy “Grzelcyk (lower body) and Zboril (upper body) are not expected to be back Tuesday, though. Grzelcyk underwent an MRI on Sunday. Cassidy said it would be tough for either to play Thursday night if they aren’t back by Wednesday.” Hopefully the two will be back in good health soon.

With the lack of training camp this season, it has been hard for some teams to gain traction in the beginning of the season. This season the divisions have been switched up. This has caused some divisions to have very stiff competition. The Bruins division is a very difficult division to play in because of the many skilled teams that are in it. It will be interesting to see if the Bruins can stay at both the top of their division and the top of the NHL in the coming months.

Hopefully the Bruins can continue with their already strong season so that they make the playoffs and compete for the Stanley cup and hopefully win.
