Prom Dress Shopping

With times like the ones we are in now, there is not a whole lot to look forward to. But, it is hopeful that the senior class will get a prom and get to dress up with the fancy dresses and suits. Normally, the senior prom is located at the Atkinson Country Club but due to the pandemic, they are unable to host our capacity and the Performing Arts Center is also unable to hold our capacity. According to the “End of the Year Event” newsletter from the TRHS Administration, “We have secured tents that will be put up in the parking lot. Under these tents we intend on hosting the following; Prom Event…”. Prom is coming right around the corner and with so many options of where to shop, the choices for the perfect dress is endless.

A popular store, The Ultimate, is located in Peabody, Massachusetts. It is well known for the beautiful dresses in stock, and some were even modeled last year at the Strut for a Cure show. The store makes sure that each dress is worn by one person per school to prevent  the chance of two people wearing the same dress. From Jovani, to Sherri Hill and Ashley Lauren, a wide variety of dresses by top designers are able to be purchased. The Ultimate carries sizes from 000 to 34 with countless gowns to ensure you’ll find your dream dress and have the accessories to accompany. This store does, however, not allow rentals or refunds from these dresses.

Although it is mainly a wedding dress shop, David’s Bridal in Nashua has a section of the store that carries stunning prom dresses. You may have noticed them at the Project Hope Strut for a Cure last year as well. The dresses come in a variety of sizes, colors, shapes, and designs to give you a range of options. “ For the fashion show, I wore a green velvet dress from David’s Bridal and I loved it so much that I would definitely go back there to get my prom dress” says senior Gianna Rousseau.

Glitterati, in Danvers Massachusetts, provides over 20,000 amazing dresses to choose through. They will register your dress for each school to make sure you will be the only one, wearing it to prom. Once you choose a dress, the store will not allow another person from your school to wear the exact same dress. With three floors, amazing stylists, and multiple styles, sizes and colors for dresses by top designers, the trip to Glitterati will be as painless as possible. Another plus to this is you can also get pinned for your alterations the same day you choose the dress!

Have no desire to travel too far for the perfect dress? The Mall at Rockingham Park carries a well known dress shop, Windsor. This shop carries a collection of prom dresses in the back of the shop that are both beautiful and color coordinated to allow you to find the perfect color that matches you. There is not a large variety of dresses, but the beautiful dresses that they carry will catch your eye. The store also provides the shoes and accessories needed to create your finished look.

With so many options to find the perfect dress, the variety of dresses is endless. No matter your size, shape or preference of dress, these stores will provide your necessities to create your perfect prom outfit.
