The 2020 C8 Corvette has been a massive upgrade compared to the previous C7 corvette designed in 2015. Some of the upgrades that we have seen on the C8 corvette is a mid engine design. In previous years the engine has always been towards the front of the car, but they have put it behind the seats for the 2020 revision. This mid engine model makes 495 horsepower. A lot of people who were interested in the 2020 corvette were worried that with the new mid engine style the price would be way too much, but the base model version is only $60,000 which is quite cheap for a Ferrari like vehicle. 

There were some disappointments following the release of the car. Often in a sports car people prefer to have a manual transmission opposed to an automatic, but corvette has only released an automatic version of the car. It comes with an 8 speed dual clutch transmission making it possible to do 0-60 in under 3 seconds. If you are someone who at the very least would like to choose their own gear, they do come equipped with paddle shifters. 

Now for the styling of the car, starting with the interior. The inside of the car is a cockpit style interior, meaning that all buttons and screens are aimed towards the driver. Many like this style of interior because it is easier for the driver to control any buttons a lot faster than trying to feel around for them. The exterior of the car has been compared to ferraris and lamborghinis because of the sharp edges and straight tail, and headlights. The price is really good for comparable horsepower with some of these types of cars. 

That leaves competitor brands with a challenge: Making a fast sports car cheaper without cutting any corners. The new corvette has likely made it easy for people in the market for a new sports car. For example, the new Porsche 911 starting at 97,400 dollars and has less power than the c8 corvette. For the base model you only get 379 compared to the corvette´s almost 500 horsepower for 37,000 less. Throughout the next couple years we will likely see other companies coming out with a competitor for the Corvettes
