With fall around the corner, many are looking forward to all of the exciting things that come with this season. From apple picking and carving pumpkins to those haunted houses that make us scream, fall is definitely a season full of fun.

However, with all of the crazy events so far in 2020, it is not shocking to see that some typical fall activities will no longer be able to happen.

Canobie Lake Park’s Screeemfest has been a fan favorite for many years making New England residents and visitors excited for this upcoming 14th season. However, due to the recent pandemic, they will be suspending this year’s haunted-portion of their fall festival.

That being said, the fall festival will still be happening! Canobie will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am-6:30 pm during its regular fall season. This also means that season passes will be treated differently this fall. Park worker Erin Trainor informed me that, “the ‘Basic Season Pass’ that is usually not valid during Saturdays on Fall Festival will be valid on Saturdays through October 11th.”

With many disappointed customers and employees, it only makes the wait for next year more exciting! Samuel Larcome, an employee of Screeemfest and a scarer in the Culling House, is one of these many enthusiastic workers. “Last year was my first time working at Screeemfest and it was such a blast. I’ve worked plenty of other jobs and this was by far the most fun. Unfortunately, it did not open this year but I look forward to (hopefully) working there next year.”

Until then, there are some other options for those who love Halloween and all things scary, have no fear! Nightmare New Englands “Spooky World” will still be having a 2020 season. This will start on Friday, September 25th. They will not be open on Sundays until Sunday the 11th. Happy spooky season!!!
