HAVERHILL-  The Restaurant overlooking the Merrimack river is not just your ordinary taqueria.

A reference from the Eagle-Tribune is, on June 15th, 2020 Dan and Maggie Osborn from Atkinson, New Hampshire opened the restaurant Barrios Taqueria at the harbor place complex next to The Merrimack river. Harbor Place is home to a variety of business and residential units as well as a UMass Lowell satellite campus and a boardwalk overlooking the river.  This Atkinson couple also owns a successful Barrio Tacos restaurant in downtown Portsmouth. Barrios Tacos has become a great new dining choice to this area with its delicious menu and unique concepts.

Owners daughter and employee Tess Osborn said, ¨working at Barrio has been one of the impactful experiences I’ve ever had, my coworkers are like family, when I’m there it doesn’t feel like I’m at work, it feels like I’m hanging out with people I love while making money.¨ Tess also explained how most employees have become managers/owners because they are so loyal to the company. Her father said, ¨ it’s an overall amazing restaurant, our customers love it too which shows because of how much we have grown in the short time we have been here on the east coast.¨

While sitting down eating, if you look around you will notice that the artwork all over the walls tells a story. The award-winning muralist, Michael McNamara, created wall- to- wall murals and handmade recycled metal sculptures that add so much more excitement to the experience.
