How is TRHS expecting to perform in the 2025 football season after a detrimental loss kicking them out of playoffs in their last game last year, against Manchester Memorial 20-13. Players on this year’s team who were on last year’s team were sad about the last loss but they have moved on and are ready for the new challenges of the grueling season.
Now that the 2025-2026 season has started and they are 4 weeks in, the team is 1-3 with losses to Exeter 24-20, Winnacunnet 19-7 and Manchester Memorial 40-12 and a win against Spaulding 28-7. Senior Quarterback Matt Fitzgerald said ‘’We need to work staying focused for all 48 minutes of the game. We also need to win games in order to make the playoffs’’ Then Senior Matt Fitzgerald also said he is very hopeful for the game against Spaulding to get their first win and they did get the win. Even though he got shaken up vs Winnacunnet in the final minute of the game.
When asked about the season Head Coach Kevin Fitzgerald he stated that ‘’We continue to get better every day and have clean practices as a team’’, Win and losses control how it goes in this league and we have to play clean on Fridays if we want to win.’’ He also said that ‘’we have lots of Senior leadership, lots of guys playing varsity football and setting a good example for the younger guys’’.
The Owls have 19 Seniors on the team this year, and that is a lot of kids who have played varsity reps for a couple years now. He also talked about how the team can get better each week in order to win and he said ‘’Clean up assignments and have better technique every week.’’ Also Coach Fitzgerald said that you have to play good on all three phases of the game and this was his comment on how hard Division 1 football is in New Hampshire ‘’No weeks off in the league you have to play good and coach good to give yourself a chance looking forward to playing every friday night and excited to line up against other teams.,
The senior cornerback John Fernald stated that they will do better this year than the 2024 season. John Fernald also stated that they have 11 excuses on offence and 11 excuses on defence for players and he was looking forward to playing Spaulding because it was their first win this year.
Then Trumpet section leader Tristan Bennett who is at every game from the side watching say that ¨the o-line could improve on getting the QB more protection and things to offense needs to get open faster so the QB can get it out of his hands before the D Line closes in on him.’’ Trumpet section leader Tristan Bennett says ¨I expect us to have a good season and decent record this year¨ Over all he hes very hopeful all the friday night games coming up.
Overall everyone has big expectations for the 2025 football season. The offense has plenty to work on but is overall good. Very high hopes for the rest of the season
