What is the best energy drink? Energy drinks have become more prevalent in the hallways of Timberlane Regional High School. Anyone turn a corner and see a Monster or turn another to see a Celsius or see a Redbull. Today we will be going over the good and the bad of 3 of the most popular energy drinks seen at Timberlane.
Monster Energy is one of the many brands seen in the halls of Timberlane Regional Highschool. These energy drinks are filled to the brim with caffeine and have multiple different colors and flavors. Monsters have been around since April of 2002 and have been holding strong as a competitor in the energy drink industry. The amount of caffeine in this energy drinks makes people feel jittery and almost nauseous if they drink too much on the nutrients label it states that a monster has around 150mg of caffeine per can. Fellow classmates Alexandria Dowling and Collin Cartonio, “The monster tasted better than the red bull but over all not to good”
Red Bull is another constant competitor in the energy drink industry. These drinks are not many peoples favorite but the most well known energy drink with a whooping 92 percent among U.S. energy drink consumers and is popular with 44 percent of them. It was first made in Austria in April 1987 and made the energy drink category and later brought it to the U.S. in 1996. Popular reviews over the internet state that the can’t get behind the flavor which have never taste any different and the unnatural feel of the caffeine in the drink. Seniors Alexandria Dowling and Collin Cartonio tried red bull and said, ”its okay but it would be better in smaller quantities” and “it didn’t have a lot of flavor to offer” and “it was okay and did not sit well in my stomach”.
Celsius is a new addition to the energy drink industry. This drink was founded in 2004 and was advertised for its negative calorie fitness drink because of the chromium which is known to help control hunger. chromium is an essential trace mineral that normalizes blood sugar levels and helps enhance the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. the but was classified as a energy drink. Fellow classmate Collin Cartonio states“it was a fine drink but it reminded me of the little hug fruit barrels specifically the blue raspberry flavoring.”
After interviewing and trying all of these drinks myself I have come to the conclusion that none of these energy drinks are good for you. But the best tasting one was celsius and the most effective one was Red Bull. The one with the most calories out of the Three Red Bull and the one with the lowest caffeine intake celsius. In conclusion, the best overall energy drink out of these three popular energy drinks is has to be Celsius. Celsius is the best energy drink because it doesn’t have you have a person shaking or hyper off of caffeine.
