Once considered past its prime, Clash Royale is making a comeback in the gaming world. The center of the resurgence is the popular Twitch streamer Jynxzi, as he streams the game with popular players.
Jynxzi, 23, is known for streaming Rainbow Six Siege, a popular first person shooter game. Lufa from youtube said, “He repopulated Rainbow Six Siege when it was losing thousands of players daily.” He uses humor, and his unique strategies to keep the attention of viewers. He has a massive following, and he is one of the most popular and fastest growing streamers. He uses the platform Twitch, which is a streaming platform that has content varying from gaming to podcasts. Jynxzi has around 8.1 million followers with 38,000 active Twitch subscribers. Twitch subscribers are people who pay money monthly to support streamers. It is almost like a donation with exclusive perks that the streamer can give you access to.
Jynxzi does something similar to Clash Royale like he did to Rainbow Six Siege, but single handedly leads to an unbelievable surge of players. Clash Royale is a mobile game made by Supercell. The author of activeplayer.io said, “It is very popular, with 52 million active users in September this year. It’s a strategy game that combines elements, online collectable cards, and buildings.
There are constant updates, and balance changes to the game, with new cards being added regularly. A huge part of the downfall of the game is the fact that it is very difficult to play without spending money. People who are constantly dumping money into the game could easily have an advantage even if they have nowhere near the hours that a free to play player has. Caitlin from Medium says, “Clash Royale broke the invisible contract between the game and player. Skill should lead to progress, creativity should be rewarded, and time invested should feel respected. When games break that contract, players leave.”
Before Jynxzi began to play Clash Royale, the game had been on a constant decline for the past few years. There have been controversial updates, and the game was truly slowly dying. Around a few months before Jynxzi started playing Clash Royale in 2025, the game only saw around 10-12 million active players monthly. That is an all time low compared to their 45 million peak players in 2020. Jynxzi started creating short content on Tiktok in May 2025. He also created collaborations with professional Clash Royale players like Ryley, and Ian77. He live streamed and created videos that would reach millions of people. This resulted in a resurgence of the game. After dozens of Jynxzi’s videos were created, Clash Royale reached 45.6 million active users in August. Clash Royale ended up at an all time high this September with 52 million users. May-September 2025: The Active player Clash Royale website owner said, “The player base grew by more than 14% in a single month during this period, with one report showing an increase of 6.4 million players”
Clash Royale will always gain and lose players, as that is just what happens with games. It is difficult to maintain the same amount of players that are truly passionate about a game for long periods of time. People can easily lose interest, or move on to the next “big hit” game. That is often why Clash Royale can be overlooked. The game is nearly 10 years old, as it was released in 2016. So the fact that it has reached its peak players now after that amount of time really goes to show that he has made an impact on this game forever.
