Sean “Diddy” Combs, a famous Hip-Hop artist recently has been on the decline of his career due to some controversy. Many people have been recently coming out and accusing him of assault, sex trafficking, and prostitution.
On November 16, 2023, Cassie Ventura (Diddy’s Ex girlfriend) accused him of running a sex trafficking operation and assault towards her, according to BBC News. Ever since this accusation more and more people have been coming out and accusing him.
BBC News also reported that on May 17, 2024, a video of Ventura getting assaulted by Combs on CCTV footage came to light. The assault happened in a hallway of a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. They were in a report by CNN, the video showed Cassie getting pushed to the floor and getting kicked and objects thrown at her. Diddy later said to a CNN reporter, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
According to USA Today, Diddy has spent nearly 10 months in jail including his two month trial. On July 2, 2025 Diddy was cleared of his top criminal charges, but he was found guilty of 2 counts of sex trafficking. According to the prosecutors, Combs is sentenced to around 20 years in prison. Also, according to abcnews, When the verdict was read, Combs was overcome with emotion and was shown visibly shaking. After the verdict was read Diddy rubbed his forehead and pumped his fists slightly then he turned to his family saying, “I’m coming home, Baby!”
After the case Diddy’s freedom, reputation, and finances are in danger, according to Business Insider. US magazine reported that before the case Diddy’s net worth was $740 Million, and after it was down to $400 Million. The damage that the case has done to his reputation is real and according to NYpost, he cannot make a comeback in the music industry.
According to Yahoo.com, Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told Variety that he is already thinking about what he wants to do when he gets out of jail. He said, “What he wants to do when he gets out is to start small.” He also said that Diddy meant that he was going to spend more time with his family and get re-acquainted with his own life after he gets out of jail.
