Timberlane Regional high school, a school of 950 students located in Plaistow, New Hampshire has recently kicked off their fall sports season. Many of their teams have found early success.
The Timberlane women’s field hockey team who has jumped to a 6-3 record in their first nine games. Senior Ava Paul weighed in on the season, “This season we are fighting hard and I can see a lot of success in the future.” Paul says the team only graduated two seniors last year which allows them to come into the season with lots of experience at every position. They have already beaten Exeter who Ava says they have not beaten since the class arrived at the high school. The field hockey team is on a run, and plans to continue this success through to the playoffs. The team has a tough game against Pinkerton coming up this week.
The next team we interviewed with is the girls soccer team who is now two years removed from a state championship in 2023, and finished the previous season with an overtime loss in the semi finals to Pinkerton. We interviewed Lila Fitzgerald who told us long time head coach Jefferey Bauman has stepped down this year and is replaced by previous assistant coach Samantha Labate. Fitzgerald, a senior captain on the team says, “We’re gonna work hard in practice every day then go out on game days and try our best.” The team has started with some of their hardest games of the year and is now 2-7 but they look to bounce back and make another playoff run this season. They have a favorable game against Concord on Tuesday.
The boys soccer team has struggled out of the gate and fallen to an early 1-6 record.
Senior captain Landon Petry explained, “We plan to show up to practice every day with the mindset of getting 1% better and translating that hard work to the game field.” The boys have a favorable game Tuesday as well against Concord at home.
The football team is now 1-3 but lost three close games to three undefeated teams. They show a high upside and plan on making a late break for the playoff contention. Senior Will Foley says, “We have a lot of grit, I don’t see us giving up at any point.” The team plays Dover on Friday and is very confident. “We don’t see them stopping us on offense,” says Dylan Kudym, senior captain.
