As I sit down to write this letter, I’m flooded with emotions, gratitude, excitement, nostalgia, and a touch of sadness. It’s hard to believe that my time here is coming to an end. Timberlane has been more than just a school to me; it’s been a home, a place where I’ve grown not just academically, but personally.
Walking through these halls for the last time feels surreal. I remember my first day here nervous, unsure of what to expect, but eager to begin a new chapter. Since then, I’ve experienced countless moments that have shaped me into who I am today. From early morning practices to late-night study sessions, from spirit weeks and pep rallies to quiet conversations with teachers who believed in me, each memory is etched into my heart.
To my teachers: Thank you for your endless support, your patience, and for always pushing me to be my best. You’ve challenged me, inspired me, and taught me more than just what was in the textbooks. You taught me resilience, critical thinking, and the importance of curiosity. You saw potential in me even when I couldn’t see it in myself.
To my friends: You’ve been my second family. We laughed until we cried, leaned on each other through hard times, and celebrated each other’s victories. Our inside jokes, shared secrets, and spontaneous adventures are things I’ll cherish forever. Even though we may be heading in different directions, the bond we’ve created will always remain.
To the coaches and mentors who guided me through sports and extracurriculars: You showed me the value of discipline, teamwork, and passion. You taught me that winning isn’t everything, what matters is the effort, the heart, and how we carry ourselves on and off the field.
To the younger students, Don’t rush these years. High school might seem overwhelming at times, but it passes quicker than you think. Get involved, make new friends, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. These moments, even the small ones, will become some of your most treasured memories.
Leaving Timberlane feels like saying goodbye to a part of myself. But as I move forward into the next chapter, whether it’s college, work, travel, or something entirely new, I’ll carry everything I’ve learned here with me. This school has given me roots, and now it’s time to grow my wings.
Thank you, Timberlane, for being such a significant part of my journey. Though I may be leaving the building, a piece of my heart will always stay here. I’ll look back on these years not with sadness, but with deep appreciation.
Goodbye for now, and thank you for everything.
With love and gratitude, Cohen McIntyre
