It’s weird to be sitting here writing my goodbye to the school. Like, really weird. I kind of used to think that I would just always be in the school system and that it wouldn’t end, but here I am.
The main purpose of this is to say my final thank you to all the teachers and staff of TRHS that were patient enough with me to allow me to get here. A couple notable teachers throughout the years consist of my Algebra 1 teacher, Ms. Danou. She truly helped me find a tolerance for math and she gave me a true understanding that even if I’m not good at something, if I dedicate myself to completing something and not doing it 50% then I can be successful at it.
The second teacher that really did something for me was my sophomore World History teacher, Mr. Hunter. For the first time ever I was actually excited to go to a class because of a project we were doing where we had to draw a town and it was so fun to me and I really enjoyed it. So thank you, Mr. Hunter, for making history tolerable.
The third person I want to shout out is my junior year American Studies teachers Mrs. Stevens and Ms. Carter. These two are the two teachers that allowed me to be as loud as I wanted. They would let me work in the hallways if I was feeling confined and when I was super focused on an assignment I would always get a pat on the back from them which made me feel so appreciated throughout the whole school year.
The final person I want to give a shout out to is Mr. Vigars, who completely changed how I looked at school. He finally made me excited to walk into a class because I knew that if I just got my work done, I was basically allowed full freedom.
With all that being said, I’m so happy that I got to experience high school with all these amazing teachers. At the start of every year, I never knew which teacher would have a long lasting impact on my life but throughout the tough months and year of high school you figure it out.
