As many of you know (because I never shut up about it) I was able to graduate high school a year early. I remember the day I had my meeting with Mrs. Harbel for her decision on if she would accept my request or not. I was so nervous and after she accepted me I told every single person I came in contact with. I had never been so excited in my life.
I thank each and every person that impacted my life and decisions in high school. As the year has come to an end, I realize that I rushed through these years and I’ve just been hit with the reality that my time in high school is over. I’m happy about that, as many of us are, but it’s a little sad to leave the people you’ve known and grown up with for the last 12 years.
I want to thank one of my biggest supporters since freshman year, Mrs. Clark. She was my English teacher my freshman year, then became my volleyball coach sophomore year. Mrs. Clark was always there for me on the bench telling me to “shake it off” which I continued to tell myself off the court when I let things bother me. She wrote one of my letters of recommendation to be able to graduate early and she helped me through all of my doubts and dreams about graduating early. I’ll never forget you and your support for me, I’ll miss you tons.
I thank Mrs. Rochefort, for all your help since I came to you to graduate early. She has been my biggest help in all of this journey, helping me through the whole process of graduating and making sure I was always keeping up. She also helped me through a big change in my life, helping me with strategies to deal with it and making me feel understood when I didn’t even understand myself. I’m so thankful for such an amazing and helpful guidance counselor!
I also want to thank Mrs. Harbel for accepting my request to graduate early and believing that I was ready for this at this point in my life!
Out of all the years I spent in Timberlane, senior year has been the best. I’m so happy the tradition of seniors painting their parking spots was brought to Timberlane before I left. I had fun spending the day with friends painting our spots. It was nice to not be the class being made fun of at the spirit week pep rally and to be the ones that everyone couldn’t wait to be. The hundreds of decisions we had to make this year were stressful but worth it. And Prom was as fun as I’ve thought it would be since I was a freshman. Now we all eagerly wait to walk the stage and begin our lives outside of high school.
Also, the class of 2025 is one of the biggest graduating classes in American History between high school and college graduates. It was said that there are 3.9 million graduates this year so yay for us making history!
