I want to begin this letter by thanking not just Timberlane Regional High School, but the entire Timberlane Regional School District. This school has been the backdrop of my journey, challenging me and helping me become who I am today. I can’t thank this district enough for preparing me for the years ahead, both inside and outside the classroom.
From the first day of freshman year to just four regular school days left of senior year, I can’t help but look back and remember how badly I wanted to be done with school, how all I wanted was to grow up and move on. Looking back now, I feel kind of silly for wishing it away. I wish I could remember every single day, because each one held a new memory. I can recall a handful of specific moments from high school, but now, I want to remember them all.
My favorite year of high school was this year, my senior year. I finally woke up to the importance of school. A little bit of a late realization, but better late than never. I felt more freedom and flexibility, but also more control and care when it came to my grades. It was also the most fun I’ve had; I shared classes with friends I’ve known since elementary school, and others I met in middle and high school.
Some Advice for Underclassmen: Care about your work! Care about your grades! It’ll pay off in the long run, I promise! Also, do not take these opportunities for granted, most of you will miss this place when it’s your turn to graduate. Best of luck to all of you that read this and I wish nothing but the best for all of you!
