High school is often described as a whirlwind of experiences, and it’s true that these four years will pass by in the blink of an eye. Trust those who tell you this because they speak from experience.
As I reflect on my own journey, I feel so grateful for every moment. Although I am beyond excited to start my college journey and move away from home, I will deeply miss my time spent here and, more importantly, miss all of the meaningful strong relationships I have built here. I strongly encourage you to savor each day and make the most out of every opportunity to spend time with your friends, even if you’re too tired, or feeling too lazy. Dive into activities and clubs that speak to you and make it your goal to leave high school with no regrets, you’ll learn so much about yourself by doing things that mean the most to you. Create meaningful connections with your teachers and their guidance can be invaluable. You’ll remember the most important things they’ve said and allow their words to guide you into your future.
Being a part of such a small school can be such a privilege as your community is also small and supportive. Timberlane has been a mixed experience but I feel so fortunate to have gone here and met all of my friends and teachers. As graduation is right around the corner, I am beginning to feel the pressure of the days flying by and only having a few days left here at Timberlane. Overall I just can’t believe how fast it has all happened, if I could talk to my freshman self I would tell her to take things slow and soak it all in because it will all be over before you know it, then you will jump out of your comfort zone. As an underclassman reading this I hope that you will take in everything and enjoy your time here.
