If I was to be asked nine months ago where I would be right now, or who I will be at this point in the year, I would have never expected to be who I am today. I would not have been able to tell you the baseball team has a chance at a playoff run and a great group of friends to surround myself with. This being said, I just want to get on here and get the attention of the underclassmen and emphasize the importance of surrounding yourself with people who will support you and give you an outlet and a source to be your most successful self.
This is for sure my biggest piece of advice because without a surrounding support system who can build you up when you are broken down, or bring you down to earth when your head is in the clouds, I believe you cannot be successful. Another key part of my life that I cannot express to underclassmen more is the importance of self awareness and self happiness because you can try as hard as you want to make others happy and help them to have a better day, but if you are ignoring your own issues and helping to support and build up others before you care for yourself you will ultimately end up living in a world of sadness and regret.
My final statement to any underclassmen who is reading this is to just be there for yourself before anyone because at the end of the day you are the most important person in your life, so make sure that you are strong in what you do and always do what you want to do because if you are always accounting for others and forgetting yourself you may forget how to be you. Always remember to stay true to yourself and that you are the most important person, your care and compassion for others will come once you figure out how to maintain self happiness.
