Many Musicians release music with the hope of inspiring others with their story. That’s exactly what KSI thought was gonna happen when he released “Thick of it” on October 3rd. Unfortunately for KSI the feedback he got from his song was not what he expected.
KSI, an English musician, boxer, Youtube content creator and entertainer has released many songs in the past that have gone viral and some that have flopped and not gotten nearly the amount of the attention he expected. But no song KSI has released has gotten the same amount of backlash as his latest song. “Thick of it” currently has over 45 Million views and is projected to be his most listened to song, and if there was no comments on the video you’d think this was great, but the more you dive in, the more you find out. A review writes “The best part of this video is the ads, especially the ones you can’t skip.” Another online reviewer says “He took a 1.5 year break from music and came back with this. Take two years next time.” These are just some of the bold and pretentious comments left under the song.
The Youtube comments might not mean much because they are from uneducated kids who do not make music, but other musicians have come and spoke out about KSI songs as well. Former Musician Jake Paul says “When a grown man is making music like that, I just feel bad for them…he should just quit and give up” Jake and KSI have a known beef but one of KSI’s close friends ISHOWSPEED spoke about the song as well, saying “KSI, this song is…So bad, quit music.” KSI responded to these comments and had a heartfelt message about his song and how this song describes his life and how much it hurts him to see these comments and memes.
KSI has come out numerous times and said he actually really likes the song and thinks everyone should give it a true listen before just hating it because everyone else does. My suggestion to the reader is to listen to the song and keep things positive.
