Kids and Adults that play contact sports like football all experience some sort of injury, but even worse head injuries. New technology can lessen your chances of getting head injuries by wearing these new pieces of equipment called Guardian Caps! Football players have been seen wearing Guardian caps all around from little leagues to the NFL. The future of the Guardian caps can be massive in the way they can eliminate concussions, CTE and all sorts of head injuries.
Guardian Caps have been seen being worn all around the internet, in high school, college and pro levels of the game. Guardian caps are used as an extra layer of protection on your helmet to reduce head injuries. Mainly worn by linemen and linebackers of football this new technology can greatly reduce head injuries shown in studies. Formed in 2011 by sister company, the Hanson group and a material science company with nearly three decades of engineering and material science expertise. The guardian cap is a lightweight cover for your helmet, making it soft and flexible to go over any helmet. Being tested by multiple labs/ universities shows that it reduces head injuries by 10-25%. There are also multiple benefits of owning these like they are lightweight so they won’t affect your game, one size fits all so you don’t have to buy multiple, preserves helmets by keeping them safe from hits and the biggest one reduces harm.
NFL players’ opinions differ on if players should be wearing the guardian caps or not, people think that it won’t help or it could affect how you play in game by having the cap weighing you down or even the heat of it. But Kyle Granson, the Indianapolis Colts tight end says that “It doesn’t add any noticeable extra weight or negatively impact on how I play” also adding “there’s no amount of aesthetic that can outweigh what a traumatic brain injury can do to you” – Kyle Granson. Along with Football Guardian caps, Hockey and Lacrosse have also made a guardian cap for their helmets to insure the players safety. Guardian caps are the new and improved technology to keep our star players safe from career ending head injuries, improving their game and health.
