At Timberlane High School, we are welcoming a new school resource officer. We got the opportunity to talk with him personally to learn the advantages of having an officer on campus, what things you can use him for, and what led him to take this job as a high school resource officer. We hope to share the good with having an officer so accessible to students, and the good associated with law enforcement.
We first asked officer McDonald why he decided to take this position at the high school and he replied with the plain and simple fact that he likes working the age group. He says that he wants to be there to help with issues that kids may have now, so once they grow up they’ll have less issues and can do well out in the community. Officer McDonald states “Helping kids is my main priority and seeing them strive is something I look forward to.”
Before joining the Timberlane community, he worked in IT, which was not a field of employment that he enjoyed. We asked why he chose to pursue becoming a school resource officer instead of doing road work, and he restated that he likes working with students and helping shape them into strong young adults.
Officer McDonald hopes to connect good experience with law enforcement and help young, impressionable students grow. We had a great experience with officer McDonald and we hope for our readers to understand and appreciate him.
