Dear Timberlane Times Newspaper,
I believe cosmetic companies should have to prove a product safe before it enters the market. This topic is based on the amount of chemicals that are found in cosmetics. Every single day a woman uses an average of 12 cosmetic products in their daily routine. In these products there are harmful chemicals that are very harmful to the human body.
Leading on these chemicals can cause cancer, fertility issues, and respiratory issues. Normally when buying makeup items at a store or online people don’t even think about the harsh chemicals that are used in making these products. Consumers could be more aware to know what products are safe for them by reading the ingredient label on the back. There are also many apps you can download on your phone where you take a picture of the label and it tells you all of the harmful ingredients and how much you are at risk to them. To reduce the amount of harmful ingredients you may be using is to limit the amount of things you are putting in your body. You can even look at and buy all natural cosmetic products too.
Even though people may brush off this topic, it is very important to know what you are putting on your body. This is because these products are absorbing into your skin/body and are slowly causing harm. There are many other options you could use for cosmetics and alternatives that are better and safer for you. It’s better to be warned about the harmful chemicals in cosmetics before it’s too late.
