As October begins for Timberlane High School, staff and students are getting ready for the most exciting week of the year, Spirit Week! The best part of Spirit Weeks is how inclusive and friendly it is, students can vote on what dress up days they would like to see this year. Spirit Week usually includes fun and exciting topics that are trending.
For Timberlane students dressing differently and crazy for spirit week is the way to go, at the end of spirit week we have a school wide Pep rally which includes fun games and music, teacher and student competition, and spirit week owl awards! Each grade gets to vote on two people they think had the best outfits and school spirit throughout the week, those people are then awarded the Owl Award at the pep rally.
During the week the student council creates backdrops in the cafe annex so students and teachers can take pictures, and get to experience the theme in real life! 2023-2024 spirit week days included Barbie vs Ken on Monday, Through the Ages on Tuesday, Soccer mom vs Barbeque dad on Wednesday, Pj day on Thursday, and finally on Friday Color and Toga day.
Senior Annabella Raymond says “I love how these spirit week days are different from what they have been the past few years, getting to dress up with your friends and see all the different costumes people wear makes it all the better!”
