Taylor Swift’s new album “Midnights” has been a huge success and a record breaking album. It was released on October 21st, 2022 and it is her 10th studio album. The album is her biggest success numbers wise, breaking multiple records including being Spotify’s most streamed album in a single day.

Not only did Midnights break Spotify’s record, but Taylor became the first artist to ever claim all 10 spots at once on the Billboard Hot 100. The Top 10 consisted of 10 songs from Midnights. “Anti-Hero” debuted at number 1, which is the ninth song of her’s to do so. She now has the most top 10’s among women in chart history.

5 years ago, Taylor’s album Reputation set the record for the biggest ever U.S sales week, and she just broke her own record with Midnights in only 4 days. “It’s not like Swift’s previous albums weren’t successful. Rather, her number of streams have consistently grown over the years as the streaming industry has captured more of the music listener market share” (cnbc.com). Midnights ended the week being the third largest streaming week for an album ever, behind Drake’s Scorpion and Certified Lover Boy

Other records that were set include largest sales week for a vinyl with over 500,000 sales, biggest pop album of all time in single day streams on Apple Music, and largest streaming week ever for an album by a female artist.

Taylor Swift’s record breaking success doesn’t come as a surprise to most, but it is still a huge accomplishment and a result of her loyal fans, hard work and dedication to her music throughout her career.
