Timberlane’s football and girls soccer teams each earned a playoff spot after the 2022 regular season. After finishing the regular season 7-2, Owls football earned the six seed and faced Concord in the first round. Girls soccer also earned the 4 seed going into the first round.

The Timberlane football team earned a big win against Concord to advance into the quarterfinals of the playoffs. The final score was 20-14 after a fumbled punt return by Concord. The Owls were then able to collect two first-downs to run out the clock. Their next opponent is Exeter who the Owls have already faced in the regular season. When asked how he feels going into the game, the senior corner and wide receiver Jaden Mwangi responded, “I feel good, I like our team and the matchup we have this week.” This game is a must win for the Owls otherwise this will be the end of their season.

Fans of the football team have also been showing their support throughout the season. Large crowds have been visible during home games dressed up for different themes each week. Dedicated fan Cole Priest, when asked about how football makes him feel, responds, “It makes me feel happy and excited to see the seniors go on one last run.” He was one of many who filled the stands during the big quarter final win against Exeter.

Since Timberlane has first joined division one, they have not always had this much success. The Owls finished the 2019 season 0-9 which is why they spent two years in division two. During the regular season in 2019 the Owls lost to Concord 28-14, but this year the Owls beat Concord in the first round of the playoffs with a score of 20-14. They also beat Exeter twice in one season which has not been done in the history of the program. The Owls have proven that they are not the same team they used to be.

Girls soccer finished with a record of 15-2. They were able to advance the first two rounds after beating Nashua South and Bishop Guerton, but fell short in the semi-finals after losing a tough game to Exter 2-3. Junior Maia Parker when asked about how the season went responded, “I would say that it is easily the best soccer team I’ve ever been on, and we made it the furthest any girls soccer team has in Timberlane history.” NH Sports Page stated the leading scorers for the team were the Keogh twins with Bella scoring 30 goals and Sophia scoring 16. Even though they are losing these two Merrimack soccer commits, the Owls are hoping to bounce back next season.

Timberlane girls soccer was able to have a successful winning season. The football team is not done yet as they are preparing for a big game this weekend.
