Timberlane Football has started their 2022 season at 5-1. As of October 7th,  they are first in the Division I East after beating Manchester Memorial, Winnacunnet, Keene, Exeter, and Goffstown.

Timberlane Football is making a statement in their first season back in division 1 since 2019. In 2019, the Owls finished their season at 0-9 which did not make them contenders for the playoffs. Senior captain Malikai Colon explained, “We didn’t have the same success when we were freshman but we are a team coming back into d1 with a lot of confidence to take home one last title.” The Owls’ veteran experience gives them an advantage when playing other opponents as well as their chemistry they have from playing together since 6th grade.

Their last game against tough division rival Exeter resulted in a 27-23 win for the Owls. This win was led by playmakers such as Dom Coppetta, Liam Corman, Eddie Digiulio, and Matt Williams. Starting quarterback ,and captain Dom Coppetta, has a lot of confidence in the offense, stating, “I think we have a very good variety of plays and formations. We can pass when we need to and our line is good enough to run the ball.” He also says he thinks the Owls will do well in their last few games of the regular season playing Spaulding, Dover, and Portsmouth.

The Owls are showing success by outscoring their opponents 161 to 82. Matt Williams described the defense as “pretty good” saying we are able to make plays when we need to. This was the case when the Owls stopped Exeter on the Timberlane seven yard line to secure the win at home on October 7th.

According to Maxpreps, Timberlane Football is a top 10 football team in New Hampshire. The Owls plan on dominating the rest of the season to earn a first round bye in the playoffs. The seniors are planning on making their last season together one to remember.
