The Celtics Season Crumbles Before It Begins

The Celtics started the offseason strong, but then it quickly started heading south. Injuries and off court drama has left the city of Boston wondering if the Celtics can pull it together for the season.

After a tough finals loss for the Boston Celtics, they had a promising off season to get over the bump. They traded for Malcom Brogdon and signed Danillo Gallinari, giving them an even better roster than the year before. Coach Ime Udoka was heading into his second season with more experience and a better team. He had a strong and healthy roster to work with.

Then like a flipped switch everything fell apart. The Celtics newly signed forward Danillo Gallinari suffered a season ending injury, Robert Williams is missing some extended time with a knee injury, and our coach who led us to the finals was suspended for a scandal with a Celtics employee.

Sports and media writer for Fansided Cal Durrett said, “Ultimately, despite a promising start to the offseason for Boston, it’s quickly devolved into a nightmare. In fact, with no Udoka, a potentially discontent star, and injuries to deal with, the Boston Celtics should no longer be considered the favorites in the East.”

Even with these setbacks right before the season starts, the Celtics still have a very good roster and have a strong chance to be a top four team in the East. With the season beginning soon however, The Celtics can only wonder if they would perform better without the losses they have suffered this season.
