Prom season is right around the corner, and every girl questions where they should get their dress. There are many things to take into consideration before deciding where to buy a dress. These include the price, selection, and how far you are willing to drive. Most Timberlane students buy their dresses from the Ultimate, Glitterati, or 125 Bridal. But, which one is the best? 

The Ultimate, located in Peabody, Massachusetts, has a wide variety of selections. Their website states, “With the largest inventory in New England, we are not your average store!… With our exclusive access to the top designers like Sherri Hill and Jovani, we are also the #1 store for Prom, Semi-formals, Bat Mitzvah, Sweet 16, Guests of the wedding, or just a fun night out. We carry sizes 000-36 so you will be sure to find your dream dress and the perfect accessories to make it an event to remember forever.” They have many different styles, sizes, and designers to ensure that almost anyone can find a dress there. It is located about 35 minutes away from Plaistow and is open until 9:30 pm during the week, and 7:00 pm on the weekends. These hours allow everyone to be able to find a time to go.

We got our dresses at the Ultimate. The service was really good, and the workers were very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. During the process of getting our dresses, the employees looked through racks and helped us pick out and put on the dresses. In addition, we both got our dresses on the first day of being there. They had a huge amount of selections. Also, the quality of the dresses were very nice and they had prices and sizes for all types of people. We would recommend the Ultimate to anyone searching for a prom dress. 

Ashley Hatt, a Timberlane student stated, “as someone who has been to both Glitterati and the Ultimate, I much prefer the Ultimate. The employees seem to be a lot nicer and much more patient. The store is also much bigger with a lot more employees available to help. There also seems to be a lot more dressing rooms, making the store feel less crowded.” She believes that the Ultimate is better, and she is not the only one. What she did notice was at both prom stores the dresses were the same prices, but she felt she had more selection at the Ultimate.

Glitterati’s website states, “AT THE START OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM, WE FOCUSED ON DESIGNER DRESSES. NOW GLITTERATI STYLE RUNS ONE OF THE TOP DRESS STORES IN MASSACHUSETTS, AND NEW HAMPSHIRE, AS WELL AS A POPULAR RETAIL WEBSITE. ABOUT THE STORE: THERE AE FIVE BRICK AND MORTAR STORES LOCATED IN MASSACHUSETTS AND NEW HAMPSHIRE WITH OVER 20,000 DRESSES AT A TIME, AND FEATURES AN ABUNDANCE OF FITTING ROOMS. OUR BRANDS ARE TOP DESIGNER DRESSES WE FEATURE POPULAR COLORS, POPLAR STYLES, POPULAR OCCASIONS.” In this quote from their website, there is a spelling error. This reflects the company and shows that it is poorly represented. They state that they also have a wide variety of selections, and they are open for a good amount of hours. They are open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm most days of the week.

Breeze Dennis got her dress at Glitterati but also went to the Ultimate and she said, “the Ultimate was much more efficient and put together. The worker who helped at the Ultimate was a lot more supportive and helpful when choosing dresses. The lady at Glitterati was very pushy and wasn’t really letting me decide on my own.” She did not get her dress there, but she also preferred the Ultimate.

125 Bridal does not have information on prom dresses on their website. However, there are multiple girls at Timberlane who got their dresses there. Katie Bedard, who got her dress at 125 Bridal said, “it was really nice there and the people who worked there were super nice and honest. They really helped you out all the time. They keep good care of the dresses and have amazing options and also give you good people to get them altered by.” Although Katie has a positive review of 125 Bridal, she did not go to any other store and has nothing to compare it to.

Ashley Hatt’s and Breeze Dennis’s reviews are more accurate because they went to two different stores. This allowed them to truly be able to figure out which store they preferred. In the end, these reviews show that the Ultimate is the best place to buy a prom dress. The information from people who have gone to the store proves that the Ultimate is the best.
