The Timberlane Boys soccer team will be looking to improve after last year’s season which resulted in an 0-9-1 record. The Owls season was concluded when the team lost in the Division 1 preliminary round of the playoffs. The team will search for leadership from senior

Cole Newman, and Juniors John O’Leary and Evan Doherty to help younger players step up to the task of varsity level play.

Senior captain, Cole Newman, has an optimistic outlook for the team he stated “Ya know, we are off to a rough start but for the moment I am enjoying balling with the bros and I think we can catch at least one win.”  The Owls are winless through six games, but they are far from ready to give in. Newman was asked how he keeps the team positive when games tend to not go in their favor, and he responded by saying, “I just like to keep things light on the field, it’s all about finding a balance between putting in effort while still having a good time.”  As everyone knows by now the team comradery shared by the Boys Soccer Team is unmatched. The team participates in activities such as yoga and “casual” pasta parties. Cole released some secrets with regards to keeping the group so close and he said  “sometimes I get the gentleman out for a nice little dinner after practices and it is always a grand time.”

Avid fan of the soccer team Landis Nadeau has been quite impressed by the team’s effort. Landis states, “ Play from goalie Dylan Brandano has been quite impressive, coming into the season I had high expectations regarding his play and he has lived up to every expectation I held for him”.

Although the 0-6 start has put a lot of pressure on the team to succeed they seem to be relaxed as well as hopeful. The future of the team looks promising for a team that is not seeing much success. A large number of the team is on the younger side and in the next couple of years we should see Timberlane Boys Soccer on the rise once again. Myself and the rest of the Timberlane community are excited to see what they can do in the following stretch of games. The future is bright and hopes are high for Timberlane Boys Soccer!
