March Madness

The NCAA March Madness tournament has ended and brackets have already been busted.  In the first round the # 2 seeded Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the 15th seed Oral Roberts crushing quite a few brackets.  Then the tournament’s favorite to win it all #1 Illinois lost to #12 Loyola Chicago sending many brackets out the window.  This March Madness has been one for the ages as after the first two rounds alone there were officially no perfect brackets remaining according to NCAA “The last perfect bracket was broken when Maryland defeated UConn in the second round.”

The first 2 rounds were full with upsets and unexpected games.  In the next round  #11 UCLA defeated the powerhouse #1 Michigan 51-49.

The Tournament just finished its final 4 stage with #1 Gonzaga defeating #11 UCLA 93-90 off of a halfcourt game winner by Jalen Suggs which will go down as one of the best shots in college basketball history.  And #1 Baylor defeated #2 Houston 78-59.  Leaving the final 2 teams #1 Baylor and #1 Gonzaga facing off on the biggest stage The National Championship.  In the National Championship Baylor shocked the world and blew out undefeated Gonzaga 86-70 shattering their hopes of an undefeated season in the last game and brought home the gold.

This March Madness was different though because last year there was not a tournament so players on the teams felt even more motivated to put on a show in this year’s tournament given the special opportunity to play in March Madness.  It was also a record breaking year where after the completion of the second round there were zero perfect brackets remaining.  Which is the record for the fastest all brackets have been broken and it’s crazy to think it came just a year after there wasn’t even a March Madness.
